Location: Grand Rapids, Michigan
For years, CS Erickson’s Grand Rapids headquarters operated out of a temporary rental space.
The location served them well during a period of growth, but as their team and business evolved, so did their workplace needs. Ready to invest in a more cutting-edge and forward-thinking environment, they partnered with Custer to help transform the former Century Flooring building into a modern, high-performing headquarters designed around their people, their brand, and their vision for the future.
A Purpose-Built Space for a Growing Team
As CS Erickson continued to grow, their leadership recognized the need for a workspace that would support their evolving team and long-term goals. They saw an opportunity in the former Century Flooring building, a space with strong potential to become a dynamic headquarters.
CS Erickson handled the technology integration, installing AV systems throughout the office to enhance communication and productivity in the office. Their own work at work, in the environment their team now calls home.
Designing for Performance and People
Focusing on people and performance, we worked alongside architecture and design partner Ghafari and construction company Carbonsix. The floorplan was designed to give employees room to spread out, take in natural light, and choose how and where they work throughout the day. From collaborative zones to private offices, each area was built to enhance focus, flexibility, and connection. More than just a workplace, it tells a clear story about CS Erickson’s values, prioritizing their people, investing in the future, and building an environment where innovation can thrive.
